Schilthorn / Piz Gloria
The Schilthorn is an impressive 2970 meters high. The Piz Gloria revolving restaurant and the viewing platform Piz Gloria Skyline View offer a 360-degree panoramic view of the Eiger, Mönch, Jungfrau, Mont Blanc and even the Black Forest. James-Bond fans make a pilgrimage to the interactive exhibition Bond World 007 for the Bond film ”Her Majesty’s Secret Service” and to the 007 Walk of Fame, where the fim’s actors immortalized themselves. The station is only a 10-minute walk from the from the Hotel Edelweiss and can be reached by the Schilthornbahn cable car.
First
Take the Firstbahn from Grindelwald and drive via Bort to the First. Walk to Lake Bachalp.
The First Glider awaits thrill seekers near First. Here you can whizz through the air for 800 meters at a speed of up to 83 km/h. You can also reach a similar pace with the First Flyer, where you will be flying high above the alpine pastures from First to Schreckfeld in a harness. Or venture onto the First Cliff Walk lookout platform - 45 metres above the ground.
Allmendhubel
At 1907 m above sea level, the Chill skyline combines relaxation with absolute tranquillity. The Flowerpark adventure playground at the Allmendhubel panorama restaurant delights families as much as the Flowertrail adventure trail with its 150 different mountain flowers. You can walk to Allmendhubel from Mürren in about one hour or take the Allmendhubelbahn, cable car which is only a 7-minute walk away.
Das Lauterbrunnen Valley
The Lauterbrunnen Valley is a valley of waterfalls – 72 of them in total, above all the almost 300-meter-high Staubbachfall. Especially when the snow melts and after rain there are lots of waterfalls and huge masses of water to admire. The Lauterbrunnen Valley inspired Johann Wolfgang von Goethe to write the poem „Song of the spirits over the waters“ about his visit there. From the information board in Stechelberg you can hike along the UNESCO World Heritage Theme Trail into the Pro Natura Nature Reserve “Hinteres Lauterbrunnen Valley” into a gorgeous high alpine landscape and encounter a wide variety of plants. From Mürren to Stechelberg or Lauterbrunnen you can take the Schilthorn cable car or the BLM.
Trümmelbach Falls
10 glacier waterfalls inside the mountains, reachable with a tunnel lift, make the Trümmelbach Falls unique in Europe. The huge water masses – up to 20,000 liters per second – flow over the Trümmelbach from teh 24km² area around the glaciers of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau into the Lauterbrunnen Valley.
Jungfraujoch
Take the train to the Jungfraujoch – this is the highest railway station in Europe. From the Spinx lookout Building at 3454 meters and the plateau for walks in the eternal snow, you will experience the breathtaking four-thousand-metre peaks and the Aletsch glacier as well as the view towards Mürren and the Schilthorn. Also impressive: the Ice Palace with works of art made of ice. From Lauterbrunnen take the Wengernalp cable car to Kleine Scheideg and take the Jungfrau Railway to Jungfraujoch (travel time approx. 1.5 hours).
Schynige Platte
Take a nostalgic ride on the Schynige-Platte Railway (from Wilderswil) and marvel at the 650 plant species in the Botanical Alpine Garten as well as the view of Eiger, Mönch, Jungfrau and Lake Brienz on the 45-minute Schynige Platte panorama hike.
Birg
From the panoramic platform Skyline Walk you can look down to the vertical abyss at an altitude of 2,677 metres above sea level. The 200-meter-long Thrill Walk, which runs along the rock massif underneath the Birg station, is also only for those who are free of vertigo.
Interlaken
Stroll through enchanting Interlaken and the picturesque old town of Unterseen, visit the monastery and castle of Interlaken as well as the locks built in 1854 between the Bödeli communities Unterseen and Interlaken
Harder Kulm
Visit the local mountain of Interlaken with the Zwei-Seen-Steg at 1322 m above sea level, from where you can enjoy both Lake Brienz and Lake Thun.
Brienzersee & Thunersee
A boat trip across Lake Brienz or Lake Thun reveals new perspectives on the Swiss mountains in the Bernese Oberland.
Giessbach
Over Lake Brienz, the water of the Giessbach stream rushes down the mountain in 14 steps creating the powerful natural Giessbach falls. A footpath leads under the waterfall. The starting point is at the ship station on Lake Brienz.
Open-air Museum Ballenberg
In the open-air museum Ballenberg near Brienz, more than 100 historical residential and farm buildings provide an insight into rural life and work in Switzerland. Craftsmen show how old tools and equipment were used.
Brienzer Rothorn
Steam-powered with the Brienz Rothorn Railway in summer to the Brienzer Rothorn at 2350 meters. You can reach Brienz by train from Lauterbrunnen via Interlaken Ost.
St. Beatus Caves
Visitors can reach the St. Beatus Caves at Lake Thun by going one kilometer into the mountain. In the wide-ranging system of caves you will see a world full of stalactites and stalagmites. Marvel at the shapes of the stalactites that have formed over millions of years.
