2.2 km of pure adrenaline: Via Ferrata
from Mürren to Gimmelwald
The Mürren rock face, the Mürrenfluh, falls 800 m steeply down to the Stechelberger Valley. What causes some to gasp for breath, also tempts some adventure hungry travelers onto the via Ferrata, to climb 300km down to the lower-lying Gimmelwald over a distance of 2.2 km. Driven by the challenge and enthusiastic about the extraordinary climbing experience including balancing acts on wire ropes, crossing the 60 m Tyrolienne and the 80 m long Nepal suspension bridge, which runs 300 m high above a gorge.
The via ferrata from Mürren to Gimmelwald has the difficulty level K3 and guided climbing tours with mountain guides are offered.
