A new building with new rooms
The expansion of our hotel was planned together with architects, engineers, and local authorities over 7 years. Construction was carried out from March 2020 to February 2021.
With the new annex, which is aligned with the existing building of the Edelweiss Mürren, 3 floors with a total of 12 premium, spacious, double rooms with balcony and a view of the Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau mountains were added. All of the rooms meet today's high standards of comfort. In addition, we were able to significantly expand our terrace.

Environmental awareness at Hotel Edelweiss in Mürren
The energy generated from the cooling process is used for hot water preparation. Heat and hot water are generated by means of an air-source heat pump without CO2 emissions. In addition, we are participating in a CO2 and kWh reduction program run by the Energy Agency for Industry. We are converting all lamps to LED and use aerator regulators for shower heads and water taps. All newly purchased machines must have at least the energy efficiency class A++.
We process dry bread into breadcrumbs – which are used again and again in the kitchen – or hand them over to farmers as animal feed. Waste avoidance and waste separation are taken into account in all areas of our hotel. We also offer waste separation to our guests and have placed containers for glass, PET and paper on the shelves.
